PGA HOPE

The Philadelphia PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) Program is a FREE 5 week golf program for military veterans. It is a rehabilitation program designed to introduce golf to Veterans to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being.  The lifetime sport of golf has proven to be an excellent activity for competition and rehabilitation, while helping Military Veterans to reconnect with their community through the social opportunities that the game provides. The program includes 5 golf lessons/clinics with instruction from certified PGA Professionals.  Clinics are Free to any military veterans who would like to learn the game and/or sharpen their golf skills or just spend some time with friends.
Currently, the Philadelphia PGA HOPE program has 2 chapters, one in Bensalem, PA and one in Mt. Holly, NJ. The program has served over 70 veterans thus far (2017-2018) and we plan to grow both chapters by expanding our program offerings among local communities for 2018 and beyond.

PGA Jr. League

PGA Jr. League Golf is a fun, social and inclusive opportunity for boys and girls ages 13 and under to learn and enjoy the game of golf. Much like other recreational league sports, participants wear numbered jerseys and play on teams with their friends. Each team is captained by a PGA or LPGA Professional, who serves as the coach and is at the forefront of creating a welcoming environment for all to enjoy the game. PGA Jr. League Golf utilizes a popular scramble format that creates a nurturing environment for learning and development - both on and off course. Over 1,400 kids participated in PGA Jr. League in the Philadelphia PGA Section in 2017.

Golf in Schools

The Philadelphia Section PGA created this program in a continued effort to grow the game of golf among youth in the community.  The comprehensive curriculum was developed by PGA Professionals and is designed to introduce the game to students of all skill levels through their physical education classes in school.  The objective of the Golf in Schools Program is to teach kids the basic fundamentals of the game as well as the mental and physical health benefits that this lifelong sport provides. The Philadelphia PGA and the Golf Association of Philadelphia work together to deliver the program to local schools.  The curriculum is broken down into 5 lessons which cover golf swing fundamentals, teaching techniques, in-class activities/games and valuable life skills that golf incorporates. The school is given the SNAG Golf kit equipment to use for the program at no cost and PGA Professionals assist in delivering the program through teacher training sessions and in-class instructional visits.  The goal is to grow and expand the program by activating 20 new schools in 2018 while continuing to work with PGA Professionals and educators to improve the program curriculum.
